A new version of Virtual PC Test Drive for Mac OS X is available to all registered users of Virtual PC 4.0. It has several improvements over the one released at MacWorld New York, according to Rishi Gupta of Connectix.
'We added a fix to increase performance with Windows 2000,' Gupta said. 'This should dramatically speed up boot time and overall performance of Windows 2000, NT and XP Virtual Machines running in the Test Drive.'
The new version also fixes an issue with PPP connections causing crashes when launching Test Drive. Finally, it resolves a problem that caused the Test Drive to crash when virtual machines were set to use Unique IP under Virtual PC 4.0.2 in OS 9.1, then booted in the Test Drive.
The Virtual PC Test Drive is a timed-out early preview of Virtual PC 4.0 running on Mac OS X that will expire on Jan. 31, 2002.
